Eric received his PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis on urban tree biometrics and tree ring analysis. His research, teaching and outreach focus on urban forests and arboriculture in both urban and rural communities. Tree diversity, urban forest inventories, urban tree growth, and citizen science are among Eric's interests. He sits on the Science and Research Committee for the International Society of Arboriculture and is the Vice President of Arboriculture Research and Education Academy.
