William Grange is Professor of Theatre and Film in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. He is the author of twelve books in print, along with dozens of scholarly essays, articles, reviews, and book chapters. He has received numerous fellowships, grants, and prizes for his scholarship: two Fulbright Senior Scholar grants, the Mellon Prize from the University of Texas, five senior fellowships from the German Academic Exchange Service, several grants from the Hixson-Lied Foundation, the Nebraska Research Council, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Dr. Grange has taught a wide variety of academic and performance courses at the University of Nebraska, and has held guest professorships at the Universities of Cologne, Vienna, and Heidelberg. An Actors’ Equity member since 1972, he received the Encore Prize from the Actors’ Fund of the United States for his contributions to the American acting profession.
