Jody Green earned an M.S. and Ph.D. from the Entomology Department at Purdue University. She is a Board Certified Entomologist through the professional association, the Entomological Society of America (ESA), with a specialty in Urban and Industrial Entomology. Aside from applied research and academics, she has practical pest management experience having worked as a pesticide applicator, termite inspector, and pest consultant. Dr. Green is currently an Extension educator with Nebraska Extension located in Douglas-Sarpy Counties. She has a strong focus on urban integrated pest management (IPM), which focuses on preventing pest damage while reducing the health risks of nontarget organisms associated with insecticide use. Notable programming includes bed bug education and training, involvement in the Nit Kit Program (with Kait Chapman), tick safety education, pollinator appreciation, termites, IPM for vegetable garden insect pests, fall invaders/overwintering pests, small filth flies, and pest programs for school nurses.
