He received BS in math at China Agricultural University in 2008, and PhD in statistics in the Department of Statistics at University of Pittsburgh in 2013 under the guidance of Prof. Leon Gleser and Prof. Jiashun Jin at Carnegie Mellon University. Before he joined UNL as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in 2015, he worked as a postdoc in the statistical genomics group led by Prof. Sunduz Keles at UW Madison. His current research areas include statistical modeling of high dimensional data with complex structure, machine learning, empirical Bayes and integrative genomics.
