Following a B.S. degree in Physics from Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, Odisha, India, I completed Master's Degree in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India, and Ph.D in Virology from Griffith University, Australia. After completing post-doctoral research trainings at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, joined the faculty in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami Medical School in 1992. In 2002, relocated to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I am currently a Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and a member of the Nebraska Center for Virology. I conduct research on molecular biology and immunopathogenesis of RNA viruses.
