Edward J. Balistreri became the Duane Acklie College of Business Yeutter Institute Chair at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August 2020. The Acklie Chair resides in the Department of Economics and serves as a core faculty member of the Yeutter Institute. For over two decades, Balistreri has engaged in relevant policy debates as an academic, a research economist at the United States International Trade Commission, and as a consultant. This experience gives him a unique and informed perspective as both an educator and researcher. He has considerable expertise working with legal teams in the analysis of trade agreements and trade disputes, including a decomposition of policy impacts for all 50 states, and with a focus on agricultural products critical to Nebraska. Prior to joining the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Balistreri held positions at Iowa State University and the Colorado School of Mines. Balistreri earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Colorado-Boulder and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Arizona State University.
