Marilyn Schlake is an Extension Educator with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Rural Prosperity Nebraska and Department of Agricultural Economics. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UNL College of Business and Master’s in Organizational Management and Entrepreneurship from Peru State College. She focuses efforts around business, community and economic development. Schlake works with communities to engage citizens and facilitate community growth. She has won state and national awards for her scholarship and educational programming. In 2021, Schlake was appointed as a graduate lecturer within the Department of Agricultural Economics. Schlake has co-authored three national curricula for business and communities. Schlake serves as past-chair of the Nebraska Entrepreneurial Taskforce and is Chair of its premier educational program, the Entrepreneurship Best Practices Summit. Schlake also leads the RPN entrepreneurship team focused on developing the entrepreneurial capacity of Nebraska communities.
