Trina Creighton is a broadcast anchor/reporter turned associate professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism & Mass Communications. Creighton started her career at UNL in broadcasting but has added to her areas of interest; diversity and inclusion. This new interest began when Creighton developed new curriculum for her first big lecture hall class; Social Justice, Human Rights and the Media. That class is now offered both semester. She has also created new course materials for an online class; Race, Gender and Media. In 2018, faculty voted in Creighton as the chair of the colleges Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has also been awarded a Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship appointment from the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer; Donde Plowman.
