I am an aquatic ecologist interested in understanding the mechanisms that control variance in stream ecosystems and their response to human activities. My specific areas of expertise include nutrient biogeochemistry, ecosystem metabolism, organic carbon transport, foodweb interactions and ecological-evolutionary interactions. I have been and continue to be involved in projects inside and outside of Nebraska, including active collaborations in Ecuador, Trinidad, Brazil, Spain, and Sweden.
